    Biography

    Forbes Magazine, special Israeli edition, noted Ami at the 42nd place out of the “300 list” of Israel’s most influential individuals.

    Ami Orkaby is of counsel to the firm. Ami heads the firm’s Immigration, Corporate Global Mobility and Relocation practice. Ami also holds vast expertise in crisis management and risk and compliance matters and representation of individuals, corporations before regulators and government bodies.

    Ami acts as the sole legal adviser in Israel for the Governments of Japan, the Republic of South Korea and Mongolia, covering a wide range of matters on Israeli law and regulations.

    Ami served as senior adviser at the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office (2000-2004), Advising the highest levels of the Israeli government on issues ranging from legal to social and economic affairs.

    In parallel, Ami represents high-net-worth individuals and corporations in a broad range of international and domestic corporate and commercial transactions, with emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, private equity financings, venture capital, technology transactions, banking and advisory work. Ami has substantial experience in structuring and negotiating complex cross border transactions primarily in the Asian region. Ami is the Chairman and Co-founder of MAC Fund, the First Israel-Korea Venture Capital Fund. In 2024, Ami Orkaby joined Trepont Fund as a partner. Trepont is a newly formed deep-tech fund bridging Korea, Israel, and Silicon Valley.

    In 2006, Ami was appointed as the Honorary Consul General of Mongolia to Israel, and in 2010 he was appointed Honorary Consul General for the Republic of Korea in Jerusalem. Ami serves as Dean of the Israel Consular Corps. In 2010, Ami was elected President of the Israel-Korea Chamber of Commerce. In 2003, Ami was one of few Israelis ever to receive the prestigious Eisenhower Fellowship for outstanding leadership.
