This Privacy Policy (hereinafter: “Privacy Policy“) applies to the way we, Meitar Law Firm (hereinafter: “Meitar“, “we“, “our” or “us“), use personal data (as defined below) collected, received or stored by us about individuals regarding the use of the website: https://meitar.com/ including sub-domains of this site, and their contents (together hereinafter: “the Website“).
- Introduction. This Privacy Policy is implemented because we, as the controller, recognize the importance of privacy. This Privacy Policy details how we manage personal data that will be collected during your visit to the Website and the choices you can make regarding how this data is collected.
What is personal data? “Data” or “personal data” as defined in the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981 (hereinafter: “Protection of Privacy Law”) including data relating to an identified or identifiable person, including by means of an identifier such as a name, identification number, biometric identifier, location data, online identifier, or one or more factors specific to the physical, health, economic, social or cultural status. - Consent and Changes. You are not under any legal obligation to provide us with information about yourself, and the provision of information is done of your own free will. However, if you decide not to provide certain information, we may not be able to provide you with services or some of them, for example, to respond to a contact request or to allow your registration to our alumni organization.
By using the Website, you agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy, and to any collection, processing and sharing of personal data, for the purposes detailed below. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not enter or make any use of our Website. We reserve the right, at our discretion, to change this Privacy Policy at any time. - Type of personal data collected that is directly provided by you and purposes of its use. Currently, you can access the general information available on the Website without providing personal data. However, we receive or collect personal data from you in the following ways:
3.1. Contact Details. When contacting us, by sending an online form that we will make available to you, by sending an email to the email address displayed on the Website, or any other means within the Website and the system, you may be asked to provide us with certain information such as first name, email address, phone number, ID number, files you choose to attach and the content of the inquiry, so that we can handle your inquiry and contact you, including when leaving messages, if necessary. If you do not provide the required information, we will not be able to handle your inquiry and we will not be able to contact you.
3.2. Registration for the Alumni Organization. When you request to register for Meitar’s alumni organization, you will be asked to provide us with details such as your name, email address, phone, current workplace, years you worked at Meitar, country of residence and a link to your LinkedIn profile. - Type of personal data collected by us that is not directly provided by you and purposes of its use:
4.1. Log Files. We may use log files. The information appearing in the log files includes IP address, browser type, date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, filtering actions, clicks and any other information that may be provided to us from your browser. We may use such information for the purpose of analyzing trends, managing the Website and system, tracking user traffic on the Website and system, and for collecting demographic information.
4.2. Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies. As part of the services, we may use “cookies”, anonymous identification files and other tracking technologies, for information security purposes, and so that we can provide our services, present you with personalized information and improve the user experience within the services. A “cookie” is a small text file used, for example, to collect information about activity on the Website and system, save user preferences and authentication. Certain cookies and other technologies may be used to retrieve personal data, such as IP address.
Some cookies are operated by third parties and it is possible that information collected through them will be transferred to those parties, for commercial purposes or for internal purposes related to service improvement and the like. 4.3. Google Analytics and Additional Analytical Tools. The Website may use a tool called “Google Analytics” to collect information about the use of the Website for various purposes. Google Analytics collects information such as the frequency of user visits to the Website, the pages they visit and which websites they use before entering the Website. We use the information received from Google Analytics to maintain and improve the Website and our products. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. In addition to the purposes of use detailed above, we may use personal data collected by us as detailed above, also in the following ways and for the following purposes:
5.1. To provide you with services.
5.2. For the purpose of contacting you and responding to inquiries and complaints.
5.3. In order to improve the Website and the services provided within it.
5.4. For the purpose of information security on the Website and compliance with legal provisions.
5.5. For the purpose of defense in legal proceedings.
5.6. If you have chosen to join the mailing list, in order to send you newsletters and updates to the email address you provided to us, according to the topics for which you requested to receive updates, as well as notices regarding marketing activities that we organize (including in collaboration with additional parties). You can request to be removed from this mailing list at any time by clicking on the appropriate link in the newsletter that will be sent to you.
5.7. If you have registered for Meitar’s alumni program – for the purpose of managing the program’s activities, for the purpose of receiving professional updates and for the purpose of contacting you and sending updates on activities that will be held within the alumni organization, including by sending email, WhatsApp, SMS, according to the contact details you provided during registration. - How we share personal data
Apart from the above, we will not transfer the information you provided to us to third parties, except in the following cases, if there is a need to do so for the purposes for which the information was collected by us as stated above:
6.1. To service providers on our behalf, who assist us in our activities and in the ongoing operation of the Website and the services included in it, including hosting system providers, electronic mailing system providers;
6.2. In the event that the terms of use or this privacy policy are violated or if you perform through the Website, actions that appear to be contrary to law, or an attempt to perform such actions;
6.3. In the event of any dispute, claim, lawsuit, demand or legal proceedings, if any, between you and us or between you and anyone on our behalf;
6.4. In any case where we believe that the disclosure of the information is necessary to prevent bodily harm or property damage (to you or to a third party) or in connection with an investigation into suspicions of illegal acts;
6.5. In the event that we are required by law to transfer to third parties your personal details and the information collected about your activities on the Website, including if we receive a judicial order directing us to provide your details or the information about you to a third party or in response to a request from a law enforcement authority or other governmental or public authority;
In certain cases, third parties to whom the information will be transferred as stated in this section above, will be outside of Israel, including in the USA. You hereby agree that information concerning you will be transferred and stored outside the borders of the country, in accordance with the provisions of the law and for the purposes presented above. - Information Security. We implement systems and procedures for information security on the Website. While these systems and procedures reduce the risks of unauthorized intrusion into our computers, they do not provide absolute security. Therefore, although we strive to use acceptable and reasonable means to protect your personal data, we do not guarantee that the Website will be absolutely immune from unauthorized access to the information stored in it. In such a case, you hereby confirm that as the legal guardian of the minor, you agree to the collection, use and transfer of personal data regarding the minor in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
- Your Rights and Protection of Your Privacy. Meitar is the controller of the database containing the information detailed in this policy. We respect your right to privacy and are interested in keeping only required, up-to-date and accurate information. It is important for us that you know that you have the right to review information about you that we hold, and if you find that this information is not correct, complete, clear or up-to-date, you are invited to contact us with a detailed request to correct or delete such information, in accordance with the provisions of the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981 and the Protection of Privacy Regulations (Conditions for Viewing Information and Appeal Procedures on Refusal to View Request), 5741-1981.
