Trade Levies (Anti-Dumping Restrictions)

Trade Levies (Anti-Dumping Restrictions)

Over the last 15 years, Israel has increased the exposure of its economy to international trade and import. Local manufacturers of goods have become more exposed to competition from foreign manufactures, and Israeli entities become relevant competitors on the international arena. Meitar has found a growing demand from our clients (both Israeli and international) for counseling on trade levies. We have handled several cases of trade levies and investigations that were conducted by the Israeli Commissioner of Trade Levies. Meitar has also dealt with issues concerning anti-dumping levies opposite the Turkish authorities and the European Commission, and regarding goods imported from China. These issues include handling complaints that clients wished to file in Israel, as well as complaints filed abroad against foreign and domestic companies, and counseling clients defending against complaints.

  • Representation of an Israeli energy infrastructure company in a complaint before the Indian authorities.
  • Representation of an Israeli fabric manufacturer, in a complaint before the Turkish authorities.
  • Representation of an Israeli chemicals distributor, before the US and EU authorities.
  • Representation of a global paper manufacturer in an anti-dumping complaint filed in Israel.
